It's not what you think!

Went to the doctor to follow up on Tess' staph infection and were met with the jolly news that it's not JUST staph, no, much more exciting than that, it's MRCA! What are the freaking odds? You think I would have won the lottery by now with the kind of luck I have.

She will be fine, she is on a hard-core course of antibiotics and believe it or not this is only the second time she has ever taken antibiotics in her life so she is expected to respond very well. I have to bring her in for a follow up a week from now and thank God we went to the hospital when we did or else she would have landed there on intravenous for a few days.

Also, for those interested, I got word from the other victim of the accident I was in, you may remember that accident, it wrenched my back, destroyed my car and wounded my soul...yes, well, the other gentleman who was involved in fact broke his back when psycho bitch broadsided him with her stupid f&#@in' Bronco, so I am just awaitin' the inevitable subpoena to testify against her at the trial that is sure to follow.

So, by my count this makes one near-fatal car wreck and one medication-resistant bacteria attacking my child and we're only 25 days in...yeah, '08 is MUCH better than '07...

(c'mon Fate, I am waiting for you to pick things up in my favor for once...)

Brooke, that really is terrible. It seems like there is no such thing as walking away from an accident like that unscathed. I am not sue-happy but it seems like you would deserve a settlement too.

You're poor baby girl. Luckily, she won't remember anything when she gets older. My '08 isn't going much better, but remarkably, it's still better than '07. But like you said, we're only 25 days in. The odds aren't in our favor so far, are they?

My god! Poor Tess! What's next for you??? Did you eat saurkraut on New Year's Day? It's a LONG, LONG tradition in my family...if you eat it...you will have good luck...I didn't eat it last year and last year was ROUGH! So...just a thought...hang in there...things will get better for you soon :o)

Oh my - I hope Tess gets well soon. Did you ever find out if the person that hit you was on any drugs or just stupid?

JESUS!! That doubly sucks. Thank God you went to the doctor when you did. Good Job, Momma. Good Eye!

Maybe you are just getting all your crappy news at the front end of the year so the back end will kick ass.

Keep playing those lottery tickets.

Glad you brought her to the hospital. You see? You're not neurotic! You're a good mommy!!! Glad that it wasn't YOU who broke your back in that accident. Poor guy :o( Wishing you better luck in the new year!

See how smart you were for taking her.

And look on the bright side. Your luck has to get better soon.

So how does someome catch MRSA? Hope Tess is feeling better soon. There's nothing worse that fighting with a child in order to give medicine/clean a wound.

One of my student's had MRSA this year. She did the round of antibiotics and healed just fine. I wish Tess a quick recovery.
