SAHM old, SAHM old...

I have been released from the clutches of corporate drudgery! I have been liberated from the cubical which held me captive! I got fired.

Ok, I didn't technically get fired. Technically I quit, but I was about to get fired which was a pretty sucky way to work every day. The powers-that-be wanted me to increase my weekly schedule which I was both unwilling and unable to do and so they decided that they were going to keep me on and start interviewing people for MY job, while I was still working there. On the tact scale for this maneuver (ten being the placement of a blind item ad in a publication far, far from my wandering eyes, one being to have me actually interview candidates myself), they were about a two, which really made me feel swell. In addition, I lost my regular babysitter which really put the icing on my "Seeya!" cake. Had work been a bit more...workable...I might have been able to fiagle something with a combo babysitter deal but I was really not happy there at all and so now I am home once more, hopefully with a freelance contract in the near future.

So that's what's been up with me. My last day was Thursday but I am stopping in tomorrow to go over clients and such with Lynn and then I will be set loose.

In other news Tess is driving me crazy. She has never been a whiny, crying kind of child but WOO DOGGIE, has she changed her ways. She is on permanent crank mode. Last night I had to physically wrestle her into her room, into her pajamas and into bed, all the while she screamed like I was beating her with a length of soldering wire. What I do, when she gets like that, is scream even louder than she does...just scream, like, "AHHHH!" and usually she looks at me like I am nuts and then calms down a bit. I pity our neighbors.

I have pictures to post but blogger is not keen on that idea so I will try again later. Until then...I remain unemployed and screaming :)

Haha nice! Glad you gave the boot to the job before they were able to give the boot to you! Your screaming matches sound like a normal dinner when my entire family gets together :o)

Two pees in a pod, our little ones. Mine is the opposite though, she doesn't want to put on clothes, just her PJ's all day.

Luckily she is small and I can force her to wear something other than PJ's when we go out.

Here's to hoping it is just a phase.

Good luck with the freelance stuff. Man, not having a flexable employer sucks.

Enjoy your escape from the rat race and cubicle world while you can.

The first few weeks at home after working for so long are always insane. I promise, once you are both in a routine it will get easier.

No babysitter? No job? Message from the universe.

When David used to get like that I would whisper. He always wanted to know what I was saying and he couldn't hear me so he would HAVE to calm down to hear me. It doesn't work now, but it did when he was your daughters age.

Enjoy being at home, I so wish I could do it. I just moved into my own place (out of my bf's place) so now I need both my jobs more than ever... which makes hating the one job even worse!
