When all else fails, bust out the fingerpaint. We had a couple of nasty, rainy days coupled with, yes, you guessed it because it is the Thing That Will Not Die, a MRSA relapse which put everyone involved in an indoor kind of mood.

I noticed a small bump on its way to becoming a big bump on Tess' tush Monday morning which prompted a speedy visit back to the pediatrician where it was confirmed to be another breakout (which I would have known for myself if I had waited one more day because by Tuesday it had turned purple and sprouted pus just like all of our collective MRSA infections of days gone by). Her pediatrician started a round of a brandy new kind of antibiotic and told me not to worry because recurrance is very common (I had, in fact, been warned that this might happen) and that she was very healthy and it should be knocked out within the week. So ten more days of antibiotics means a happy Tess because she simply loves antibiotics. I am not kidding, she loves them. I give her a dose and she asks for more every time; I usually pull out the plunger and give her another air shot which carries with it some extra droplets of whatever fruit/bubble gum concoction we are medicating with this time.

I should be happy that she never really gets sick, sick. Connor next door has something literally every other week, be it a stomach bug, ear infection or random high fever. Before the whole MRSA fiasco Tess was never on antibiotics even once before so that is a good thing...I just wish her body's particular choice of ailments was a little less hideous.

So, getting back to the fingerpaints. I decided that fingerpainting would be a fun kind of rainy day activity so that's what we did...









Three days later and that paper is still drying on the dining room table...
