Up and up and up

I haven't posted stats in a while but we had a healthy kid checkup this morning, which is always more enjoyable than your standard, "Oh God, another oozing boil has erupted on her butt," visit. Today we learned that Tess gained three pounds and grew an inch and a half since her last visit six months ago making her a very healthy 32lbs, 36 and 1/2 inches. The doctor was very pleased with her overall, especially since she potty trained so well and fairly early. No shots this time, which made for a happy Tess and she got a cookie for shedding nary a tear during the visit.

We took a few Mother's Day pictures, which was interesting, insofar as that everytime I posed with her she would either blink, turn her head away or start saying something just as the camera flashed which led to a bunch of pictures that were not so good. Here are a few that came out pretty well:

Tess and I with my mom:

Some attempts to provoke a smile by throwing her in the air:

and spinning really fast:

What really got me was the way she would beam beatifically for the camera every single time my husband got hold of her:

Speaking of my husband, he had a really fabulous time in Vegas and returned with what might be the best Vegas souvenier of all time. Behold...the toddler toga:

I wish I had one...I could totally rock a toga.

That's not fair. I want a toga. And if my mother ever reads this site, she will think it is just too unfair that her granddaughter doesn't have a baby toga and would end up flying there just to buy one. Or send me with the emergency credit card. Hey, that's an idea!
